Adoption Stories

Purr-fect Roomate

Kallie (formerly called Marble) is now not the timid little girl who spent most of the time hiding in the Cat Room at the Shelter.  I thought I had adopted a little girl with special needs who would need to be coaxed out of her shell but how wrong I was.  From the time we got into the car to go home, she changed and did not even cry.

When we got home, she settled in within a few minutes, found her food, selected her favorite mouse from the many toys awaiting her and followed me around nonstop demanding love and attention (which of course she got).  She is the perfect roommate – sleeps on my bed at night, eats well and is not fussy, shows a lot of love and affection and there have been no signs of any biting or scratching and her claws are always in.

It just shows how things are not always as they appear when you are choosing a pet.  I think just being with other cats, makes some cats very withdrawn and appear timid.  I thought that she would never get adopted because of her age, shyness and unwillingness to meet potential adopters.

I couldn’t be happier than I am with Kallie.  Thank you so much for taking care of her for the past 7 months.  I love her so much even though I have only had her for 12 days.
