Warrior Xena is waiting patiently for her people… but while she does, she is back to her happy place of being a mum and helping the staff raise another litter of puppies.

These “Charmed” puppies, Piper 🧙‍♀️, Phoebe 🧙‍♀️, and Paige 🧙‍♀️ were picked up after being abandoned at a bus stop.

Which of these 3 sisters will put a spell on you?!

It’s two for Tuesday and we would love to introd It’s two for Tuesday and we would love to introduce these two best friends, Crumble & Cannoli who are currently available for adoption as the perfect pair. These two cheeky, fun, and friendly rabbits are both about a year old, have been microchipped, have had regular health checks, and Cannoli has been neutered. Rabbits are generally very social and these two are no exception. It is important that they stay together as they are a very bonded pair. These two have so much love to give, please consider returning the same love to them 💕

Hi! My name is Tom, I am an 8 year old grey cat. E Hi! My name is Tom, I am an 8 year old grey cat. Everyone says I look like Tom from Tom and Jerry but I’m way more handsome. My staff here at the SPCA likes to refer to me as a sour patch kid, however I do not see the resemblance. I enjoy yelling at everyone so that they will give me attention and to receive cuddles, but actually it’s just a ruse for them to give me lots of treats. I take a while to warm up to new environments but once I am comfortable and claimed a home as my own, I am very affectionate and will always want your attention-and of course treats! I would love to meet my new human companion and find my forever home! To come and meet me please fill out an application: https://spca.bm/animals/cat/

At the SPCA, along with other organizations, we he At the SPCA, along with other organizations, we help all of our island’s animals, including wildlife. One common call is for animals who have come into danger as a result of fishing litter. Most of the calls we receive involve turtles, herons, longtails and other marine birds, but has also included many pets, sometimes with life threatening injuries. Some of the dangers of fishing litter include:

*Hooks can become embedded in the skin, and the wounds they cause can become seriously infected.
*Hooks, lines and weights can be swallowed, causing internal blockages and injury.
*Line can wrap around an animal’s limbs, cutting off the blood supply.
*Wildlife entangled in line may suffer a slow death due to starvation.

There are many things we can all do to help prevent fishing and marine litter.

*Bring a bait box and take any empty bait tins with you.
*Ensure all fishing line is reeled in and removed if it gets tangled-don’t just cut the line!
*Don’t leave bait and tackle unattended and put in a safe place when finished using it.
*Help keep your coastline litter-free by picking up any litter you see and disposing of it safely - even if it’s not your own!

We can all do our part to protect our island’s animals.

This is our final post of our four part series on This is our final post of our four part series on our current dog legislation and what it means for dog owners or potential future dog owners.

Did you know? Dog breeders must have a valid permit to have a litter of puppies? One of the obligations of this permit is that all puppies must be licensed and microchipped by the DENR at 4 weeks of age. This means to buy a legally bred puppy in Bermuda, of ANY breed, it must come with a microchip number AND a license tag that has been assigned to that puppy. A dog only receives one license number for its entire life.

For more information, please contact the Dept. of Environment and Natural resources: animals@gov.bm
