Before surrendering or rehoming a pet, we encourage owners to explore all available support options. Every situation is different, and in some cases additional resources may help families keep pets safely in their homes.

Support Resource

Our Pet Food Bank Program provides temporary pet food assistance to owners experiencing financial hardship when supplies are available. The goal is to support families in keeping pets in loving homes and reduce preventable surrenders due to short-term financial challenges.

The SNIP Program (Cats, Dogs, Rabbits & Guinea Pigs) helps support spay and neuter surgeries for cats, dogs, rabbits, and male guinea pigs. Spaying and neutering help prevent unwanted litter, support long-term health, and contribute to reducing pet overpopulation in Bermuda.

Rehoming Options

SPCA Community Rehoming Program

A program designed to connect pets in need of new homes directly with potential adopters.

The Bermuda SPCA provides a platform to help increase visibility for pets being rehomed directly by their owners.

Surrender Request

For owners who are no longer able to care for their pet and require assistance from the Bermuda SPCA.

Submitting this form places the pet on our surrender waiting list. Intake is limited and wait times may vary depending on shelter capacity and the needs of animals currently in care.

If you are facing an urgent situation, we strongly encourage completing both the SPCA Community Rehoming Program and the Surrender Request Form.

Submitting a rehoming profile allows your pet to be visible to potential adopters immediately, while a surrender request ensures your pet is added to the waiting list should SPCA placement become necessary.

Please note that shelter intake capacity is limited, and timing may vary depending on current demand and animal welfare priorities.
