Home furnishing store Orange Bay Company Bermuda has donated $2,000 to the Bermuda SPCA to help the charity continue its work.

Company owners Delight and Rudy Morris said the funds were raised through the sale of donated furniture and business profits. “Part of Orange Bay Company’s mission is to give to local organisations that help make life a little easier for those in need,” Mrs Morris said.

“By helping the SPCA, we are directly assisting with the care of abused, neglected, abandoned and lost animals.”

Mr Morris said he and his wife chose the SPCA because they are both lifelong animal lovers.

SPCA director Kim Sherlaw thanked the company for the donation, noting the important role that donors play in the running of the charity.

“This will help us ensure that fewer animals will suffer from abandonment and neglect, and many will find the loving homes that they deserve,” Ms Sherlaw said. “It is only with the ongoing support of Bermuda’s residents that the SPCA can continue to work diligently to provide education and teach compassion to our children and the community.”
